The vagina and vulva are particularly sensitive to:
- Viral infection with HPV
- Irritants causing eczema
- Candida or thrush infections
- Dermatological conditions
- Burning vulva syndrome
Symptoms such as burning and itching should be investigated.
Swabs and an examination with a colposcope will be done and treatment offered.
